- Do not apply heat to the following areas:• Areas with active bleeding (haemorrhagic areas)• Genital regions• Open wounds or infected skin areas
- Do not use hot compress if suffering from deep vein thrombosis (phlebothrombosis)
- Avoid applying heat to multiple body areas simultaneously as this may cause excessive blood vessel dilation, leading to low blood pressure and dizziness upon standing
